Greenblatt & Seay Concert

On Sunday, May 13, at 2:30 PM, multi-instrumentalists Greenblatt & Seay will be performing a selection of original songs from their vast collection of hundreds of zany tunes that they have created together. This talented duo provides rich vocal harmonies, and will play a variety of instruments, including 5-string viola, fiddle, guitar, nyckelharpa, harmonica, banjo,, etc.

The family-friendly concert will be downstairs, followed by light refreshments, and a chance to chat and jam with Greenblatt & Seay.

Schoolhouse Summer Fiddle Camps

Registration is now open for the Schoolhouse Summer Fiddle Camps in The Old Avoca Schoolhouse, Avoca, Nebraska.

Summer Camp 1: Wednesday, June 6 - Friday, June 8, 2018, 9 AM - Noon

For folks who consider themselves beginners.

Summer Camp 2: Wednesday, July 11 - Friday, July 13, 2017, 9 AM - Noon

For fiddlers who consider themselves intermediate or advanced.

The historic Old Avoca Schoolhouse was built in 1925, and has been the home of the Schoolhouse Performance Series since 1990. Music lessons, workshops, fiddle camps, and field trips are offered by Schoolhouse residents, Greenblatt & Seay, and are available by appointment. In addition to over 40 small businesses selling vintage, antique and handcrafted goods we'll have food trucks, kids' play areas, and local organizations raising funds by selling food (First Lutheran Church and the Avoca Library Committee) and plants/flowers (Keep Cass County Beautiful). And because it's Cinco de Mayo there will be Mexican food and drink and fun photo areas to celebrate!

The Sarpy/Cass Health Department offers free transportation assistance to women with a mammogram appointment. The service includes home pick up, hospital/clinic drop off, and return home drop off. Area Food Banks

The Louisville Area Food Bank will be open on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 6-7 p.m. The food bank is located in the First Christian Church 304 Main St. next to Copple's in Louisville. Low income residents are welcome to come to the twice a month give away. Please bring a box to put items in. This food bank is for residents of the Louisville Public School District.
