Obituary

Jo Ann Michel

Jo Ann Michael

Jo Ann (Fahrenholtz) Michel was born in Nebraska City, Nebraska. She went to school in Nebraska City. In 1959, she was married and from this union, they had five children, Randall (Valerie) Barnhart of Odell, NE; Richard Barnhart of Manchaca, Texas; Kimberly (Gary) Staack of Avoca, NE; Robbie Barnhart; and Kelli Barnhart of Gretna, NE. In 1983, she married Arlen Michel who had two daughters Robin (Joe) Maestle and Dawn Michel of Nebraska City, Nebraska.

She leaves behind five children, fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Wilma Fahrenholtz, parents-in-law Carl and Elsie Michel, son Robbie, step-daughter Robin, daughter-in-law Wahnema, and grandson Matthew. Jo Ann enjoyed her family with all of her heart. She had a passion for flowers and plants.

She worked for the United States Postal Service for thirty years and was postmaster for Avoca for twenty-nine years.
