Memorial Day is one of the few days flags are ordered to fly at half-staff then full-staff

Memorial Day has its own unique flag etiquette. At sunrise, anyone flying a flag should raise the flag briskly to full-staff then slowly lower the flag to half-staff, according to Gettysburg Flag. This is to honor the men and women who have fallen in the line of duty. At noon, the flag should be briskly raised to full-staff. This is to salute all of those who have served.

BL garage sale

Bever Lake

The Beaver Lake Women’s Auxiliary will be participating in this year’s Annual Beaver Lake Garage Sale as a Fundraiser for our scholarship program. Our Garage Sale dates and times will be Friday June 2nd from 8 am until 3 pm and Saturday June 3rd from 8 am until 12 noon.

We will be accepting donations of items on Thursday, June 1st from 9 am to 6 pm at the Beaver Lake Clubhouse – 9410 Clubhouse Circle, Plattsmouth NE 68048. Save yourself time and work by donating your Precious Stuff to us! We cannot accept clothing, shoes, large furniture or large appliances.

As you are doing your spring cleaning, we do have some space to take items prior to June 1st. Please contact Linda Power @ 704-906-4270 for your early donations.

On Friday, June 2nd, we will also be offering for sale: chili and homemade cinnamon rolls, hot dogs & free dried candy…. Yum!
