From Avoca Volunteer Fire Department

Some of you may have noticed the extra traffic, vehicles from other departments, and firefighters walking around town in full gear.
The Avoca Fire Department is hosting a class for our department and other departments in the area. Our class will be held at Town Hall Monday, Wednesday, and every other Saturday. Due to the extra vehicles in town, you may notice some extra congestion on House street in front of Town Hall/Village Office/Post Office etc.

Part of this class we are hosting is skills. During skills days, we will have all of the trucks pulled out of the station in order to make room for everyone attending the class, plus all of the gear needed for skills. Please be mindful while driving around town, of not only the trucks being out, but the people that may be walking around town in gear. Please watch your speed, and make sure to look twice at stop signs. It can sometimes be hard for members to see of of their face mask while they are in full gear.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause anyone, however having the majority of Avoca members in this class will be a huge asset to our community as a whole. This training will put our department ahead of Nebraskas required level of training for firefighters. This class will run until mid/end of September.

Dear Avoca friends near and far!

The Avoca Town Hall has been a big part of the Village for many years. Without it many people would be at a loss on where to gather for village events and many other occasions.

The last couple of years have been a struggle due to covid cancellations, funds are short. The Hall is in major need of repairs. Board members are working on raising money to help cover the cost of repairs that need to be made.

2. Masonry work on front of building
3. Replacement of Deck
4. General Maintenance.

If you would like to help in our efforts to save the Town Hall we
would very much appreciate any monetary donation towards our goal of
$25,000.
