Memorial Day
Although Memorial Day is the unofficial start to summer to most, the purpose of Memorial Day is to memorialize the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Traditionally, people visit cemeteries and memorials, and volunteers often place American flags on each grave site at national cemeteries. The custom of honoring ancestors by cleaning cemeteries and decorating graves is an ancient and worldwide tradition, but the specific origin of Memorial Day, or Decoration Day, as it was first known, is unclear.
This year honoring the fallen on Memorial Day may look different, but please take a moment to remember and send a loving note to those left behind. Check out this Memorial Day Tribute Video to help you reflect and honor our fallen.
